On the New Year’s Eve, people across the city welcomed the New Year with joy and celebrations. However, amid the celebrations, the Punjab Police took to social media to remind citizens of importance of following rules and regulations.

In a series of humorous posts, the Punjab Police used their Facebook and Twitter handles to warn lawbreakers of consequences of their actions.

One of the posts, which went viral, featured the heading ‘New Year 2024 Celebration’ and included a witty message that read: “December 31 special law and order performance by the Punjab Police. This New Year’s Eve, if you are drinking and driving, fighting on streets, breaking law and order, the Punjab Police have offers for you. Free entry at the city police station, law breakers will be given special treatment.”

The post was accompanied by the Police Department’s insignia and a bold headline, making it hard to miss. The tone of the post was light-hearted and humorous, yet it effectively conveyed the importance of following law during the celebrations.

In another post, the Punjab Police shared a creative visual featuring a character behind the bars, with the slogan: “You choose in the bar or behind the bars. 2024 Happy New Year.” This post also received an overwhelming response on social media, with netizens praising the Police Department’s creative approach to spread awareness.
