'Power Parade Car Rally' advocates safe environment for women
The Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (FICCI) Ladies Organisation (FLO) Ludhiana, under the leadership of chairperson Anamika Ghai, successfully organised ‘Power Parade Car Rally,’ a spirited initiative dedicated to raising awareness about women’s safety on Sunday.
The rally brought together women drivers, community leaders, and supporters, uniting for a shared mission—to advocate for a secure and empowered environment for women. Flagged off from the Satluj Club by the Deputy Commissioner, the rally saw enthusiastic participation, with women showcasing their determination and resilience on the roads. The event culminated at the AIPL, where an awards ceremony recognised the efforts of the FLO team and the participants who drove not just for the thrill of the race but for a powerful cause.
The competition was judged by FLO past chairpersons Monika Choudhary, Mannat Kothari, and Sangeeta Jain, who lent their expertise in selecting the winners, acknowledging not just their driving skills but the spirit of empowerment that each participant embodied. Speaking on the occasion, Choudhary applauded the present team of the organisation for their effort and emphasised that women’s safety was a cause that required consistent advocacy and action.
“Women must feel safe not just in designated secure spaces but everywhere. True empowerment comes from knowing that our cities, roads, and workplaces prioritise safety and respect. Events like the ‘Power Parade Car Rally’ are important reminders that change begins with awareness, but it must be followed by concrete steps, policies, and a shift in the mindset to create a truly secure environment for all,” said Jain.
The rally was a resounding success, sparking important conversations and reinforcing the need for continuous efforts toward creating a safer world for women. FICCI FLO, Ludhiana, remains committed to empowering women and driving meaningful change through such impactful initiatives, the organisers said.
