PPC Club lifts baseball title

PPC Club players faced little challenge from their opponents from Arya College before wrapping up the title in the boys’ section in the 19th Senior District Baseball Championship held at Government Girls Senior Secondary Smart School ground, Gill village. Eight teams competed in the championship.

In the final, PPC Club outperformed Arya College, Ludhiana 5-1 to clinch the title. Arjun chipped in with two runs while Vikram, Jatin and Shivam accounted for one run each to help their side emerge victorious.

In the semi-finals, PPC Club edged out Ranjit Baseball Club 6-1 and Arya College overpowered Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial Model Senior Secondary School, Shimla Puri, 4-2 to set up the summit clash.

In the match for the third place, Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial Model Senior Secondary School got the better of Ranjit Baseball Club 3-2 to secure the bronze.

SS Aulakh, president, Punjab Baseball Association, distributed the prizes.
