Rahul Bhandari, Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, and Fisheries, visited Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU). Vice-Chancellor Jatinder Paul Singh Gill took him for a tour of the various colleges, farms, and other infrastructural facilities on campus.

At the teaching veterinary clinical complex and multi-speciality veterinary hospital, Bhandari was apprised of the advanced treatment facilities, including the dialysis unit, clinical lab, and diagnostic imaging centre, and the services rendered at the farmers information centre for the farming community, besides farm literature and books in the Punjabi language.

At the dairy farm, he was briefed about elite animals of the university, and the concerted efforts undertaken by the management related to herd management, climate-resilient sheds, and measures on breed improvement through embryo transfer technology were also discussed.

He expressed interest in recirculatory aquaponics and biofloc fish farming methods.
