Providing transparent police system priority, says Gotyal

Khanna’s new Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ashwini Gotyal said along with preventing and curbing crime in towns and villages, immediate resolution of people’s problems would be given top priority.
After taking charge at the office of the SSP, Khanna, on Saturday, she said the Punjab Police had a glorious tradition of serving the nation and society and every possible effort would be made to maintain it.
Mentioning efforts to keep the law and order situation under control, she said a category-wise list would be prepared to track criminals and they would be kept under strict watch.
She said a war against drugs would be launched in towns and villages at an extensive level.
The SSP said an effective strategy would be prepared to control traffic of the city, for which arrangements would be carefully examined.
She said the PCR would deal with any kind of emergency situation in the city. Public dealing in the police station would also be ensured in a better manner. Providing a good, responsive and transparent police system would also be her priority, for which suggestions would be solicited from the people.
Gotyal said steps would be taken for the welfare of police force personnel and their family members and all possible efforts be made to ensure safety of the elderly in cities and villages. Soon, all sensitive issues related to towns and villages would be properly resolved by getting information.
Earlier, Ashwini Gotyal also received a guard of honour from the Punjab Police contingent on reaching the office. Afterwards, she held a meeting with senior officials, SPs and DSPs and took stock of the situation in towns and villages.
