The employee, Gurmeet Singh, was given the duty to check power connections in the village and prepare a list of defaulters. He went to the place and found that a bill amounting to around Rs 43,000 of a resident was pending. He also found that the resident had joint his main power connection wire with the meter of some other consumer in an illegal manner, following which he cut the power connection. He had to face the wrath of the house owner. Later, when he reached the PSPCL office, a woman from the defaulter’s family, along with other villages, came and thrashed the employee for cutting the power connection.
