The Indian Army showcased its prowess in weaponry, tanks, equipment, grenades, and vehicles, igniting a sense of national pride among people during the 76th state-level Republic Day celebrations in Ludhiana on Sunday.

Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, who presided over the celebrations, inaugurated the ‘Know Your Army’ event at the PAU grounds here.

It was for the first time that the Army displayed its equipment prowess in Ludhiana.

Kataria said the event highlighted the Army’s advanced military technologies, including armoured vehicles, artillery systems, small arms, air defence weapons, and surveillance equipment.

He said visitors gained valuable insights into the modernisation efforts of the Indian Army and its strategic use of cutting-edge technology in national defence.

The exhibition was open to the public, providing them a unique opportunity to interact with military personnel and explore the Army’s capabilities in a hands-on environment.

The Governor praised the Indian Army and the Ludhiana district administration for their efforts in organising the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Lt Gen Ajay Chandpuria, GOC Vajra Corps, commended the organisers, stating, “This remarkable event stands as a powerful symbol of the unshakeable bond between the Indian Army and the people it serves. It not only strengthens the trust of our citizens in their armed forces but also ignites a spirit of inspiration in the next generation to uphold the legacy of selfless service, unwavering dedication, and patriotism. The display reinforced the citizens’ trust in the Army’s capability, commitment, and readiness to safeguard the nation, leaving a lasting impression of pride and national unity.”

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the youth, including schoolchildren and NCC cadets. Civil dignitaries, ex-servicemen, and a number of people from all walks of life gathered to witness the festivities.

Chief Secretary KAP Sinha, DGP Gaurav Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal, and Commissioner of Police Kuldeep Singh Chahal were present on the occasion.
