Residents protest dumping of garbage at Aman Nagar in Ludhiana

They alleged that the authorities have failed to take action against those who illegally dump garbage in the area during night hours.
A resident, Amarjit Jeeta, said the heaps of garbage had been lying unattended for days and Municipal Corporation officials, who had been issuing challans these days against the people dumping waste at illegal spots, had failed to catch any offender.
Another resident Baljinder Singh said if the authorities fail to take note of the issue, they would intensify their protest against the corporation. “We are forced to live in a hell-like situation, garbage dump emits foul smell which also travel to our houses. We request the authorities to take immediate steps, “he added.
Meanwhile, the residents urged the Mayor and the MC Commissioner to catch the people who illegally dump garbage at the spot during night hours and heavy penalty should be imposed on them.
