Lambardars, sarpanches and panches of villages falling under Ahmedgarh and Amargarh subdivisions are jubilant that they need not be present physically for attesting documents related with residents of their villages as the facility will now be available online.

The administration has started organising camps for preparing their IDs so that elected representatives and lambardars can receive the applications or documents for attestation through WhatsApp, eSewa or mSewa portal.

Ahmedgarh SDM Harbans Singh informed that some batches of elected representatives of rural local bodies had been updated about the new scheme of online attestation under the aegis of Good Governance and Information Technology.

“Having received instruction from Deputy Commissioner Viraj C Tidke, we have started organising camps for creating IDs of sarpanches, panches and lambardars of our region,” said Singh appreciating that the representatives were enthusiastic about the governance reforms being taken in compliance of orders of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

SDMs, tehsildars, BDPOs and executive officers at Amargarh and Ahmedgarh have been advised to update all concerned that attestations being done by municipal councillors, sarpanches and lambardars regarding income certification, issuance of EWS certificate, caste certificate, widow pension and old-age pension would be done online under eSewa portal according to the guidelines of the state government.

Assistant Commissioner (G) Gurmit Kumar Bansal claimed that the administration had already made adequate arrangements for imparting comprehensive training on the subject to all concerned by organising special camps at district, subdivision and tehsil level. Sukhminder Singh Samra, sarpanch of Chhanna village, said leaving aside some elderly representative’s majority of the young and educated sarpanches and panches were enthusiastic about preparation of their ID at earliest so that they can start making attestations online instead of accompanying residents physically.
