School celebrates 80th Annual Sports Meet

Children exhibited sporting prowess, camaraderie, and teamwork during the ‘80th Annual Sports Meet’ of Kundan Vidya Mandir, Civil Lines, here on Wednesday. A number of students took part in various fun games and activities through the course of the day.

The event emphasised the importance of sportsmanship and healthy competition among children. Students from several classes showcased their talent as they were cheered on by their parents and guardians.

SB Choudhary, officiating principal, was the chief guest at the event, and he declared the meet open. He urged the young athletes to take part in sporting activities. The winners were awarded medals and certificates as a recognition of their achievements.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
