Green Land Convent School

Ludhiana: Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana, marked the 76th Republic Day with an extravagant celebration. The school was adorned with tri-coloured flags, symbolising unity in diversity. The air was filled with patriotic feelings, fostering a sense of national identity among the staff and students. The event began with the unfurling of the national flag and was followed by the national anthem. All present took a pledge to stand by the nation through thick and thin and even go to the extent of sacrificing their lives in case of war. The tiny tots participated in an inter-class fancy dress competition, surprising everyone with their memorising acts based on patriotic themes. The students performed the story of the Independence of India, taking the audience through famous incidents like the Dandi March, the Non-Cooperation Movement etc. The students came dressed up as Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sehdev, Lala Lajpat Rai, Lakshmi Bai etc. Principal Jyoti Sachdev Pujara urged the students to be proud of their nation. She told them about the diversity of the country and the relevance of the Constitution and the Preamble. The programme ended with an oath-taking ceremony wherein students pledged to safeguard the country and sang the national anthem.

A special performance by the teachers added an extra spark to the event, inspiring and motivating everyone with their heartfelt expressions. Their enthusiasm reflected their commitment to nurturing the patriotic spirit among students. The celebration concluded with a reflection on the nation’s achievements and progress, leaving the audience with a renewed sense of pride and responsibility.
