DCM YES marked World NRI Day with the launch of the NRI and International Students Facilitation Centre (NISFAC) for the 2025-26 academic session. The event commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by the official unveiling of the NISFAC by chief guest Payal Goyal, Assistant Commissioner General Administration, along with Dr Anirudh Gupta, CEO of DCM Group of Schools, and guests of honour Dr DR Bhatti, Dr Gopan Gopalakrishnan, and Principal Meenu Chopra. This ground-breaking initiative aims at assisting international students of Indian origin in transitioning seamlessly to the Indian academic system. It offers an opportunity to children to learn languages such as French, Spanish, and Italian. Chief guest Goyal appreciated the initiative and said, “The launch of the NISFAC is a significant step in addressing the unique challenges faced by NRI and international students coming here.” Dr Anirudh Gupta, CEO of DCM Group of Schools, addressed the august gathering and said, “As an educational institution, it is our prime responsibility to provide a stress-free, enriching academic experience for international students while preparing them for a global future. This initiative reflects our vision of fostering global citizens.” The event was also graced by Jasdev Singh Sekhon, Assistant Commissioner, Municipal Corporation.

HVM Global School

The festival of Lohri was celebrated with enthusiasm and fervour at HVM Global School, Sector 32, Tajpur Road. The day began with a morning assembly wherein students delivered insightful speeches, highlighting the cultural significance of the festival. The speeches centred on the joy of harvest, the spirit of togetherness, and the importance of this festival in Indian tradition. Adding to the festive spirit, the classrooms were adorned with traditional decorations, including colourful kites, handmade crafts, and Punjabi motifs, creating an ambiance of joy and celebration. The highlight of the event was the lighting of the grand bonfire, symbolising warmth, energy, and prosperity. Students and teachers gathered around the bonfire, singing traditional folk songs like ‘Sundar Mundariye’ and clapping to the rhythmic beats of the music. The atmosphere was filled with joy and cheer as everyone participated in the celebrations with zeal. Principal Pragati Kapoor addressed the gathering and shared her thoughts on the significance of Lohri as a festival that brought people together and taught children the value of gratitude. She also encouraged students to carry forward the rich cultural heritage of the country. President DP Sharma, Chairperson Meena Sharma, and Director Radhika Jain extended warm wishes to all and emphasised the importance of preserving and celebrating cultural traditions. The celebrations concluded with the distribution of traditional delicacies such as rewari, peanuts, and popcorn, leaving everyone with a sense of happiness and togetherness.
