Spring Dale Public School
Spring Dale Public School celebrated its 43rd foundation day. The event was presided over by Avinash Kaur Walia, Chairperson, and Sukhdev Singh, president. Palak Kaur of Westminster Kingsway College (London), Gurvinder Singh and Manmohan Singh, served as the guests of honour. The festivities commenced with a welcome by the school band, followed by the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. Students then took the centre stage with a series of cultural performances, including Shabad Gayan, group song, Rajasthani dance, mime, gidha and bhangra.
DCM Young Entrepreneurs school
Ludhiana: DCM Young Entrepreneurs School (DCM YES) hosted Ashutosh Pandey, an environmentalist who is undertaking a 16,000 km-long journey on foot across India to advocate for environmental conservation. Ashutosh has already covered 14,400 km through 18 states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Punjab. During his visit, Ashutosh Pandey urged the students to take small but significant actions towards environmental preservation. He encouraged them to save water, reduce electricity consumption, avoid single-use plastics and seek sustainable alternatives. Maneet Dewan, founder of CityNeeds, an online platform connecting NGOs with donors and volunteers, highlighted the importance of donating used and unused materials such as clothes, toys and electronics.
Guru Nanak Public School
Guru Nanak Public School, Model Town, hosted the ASISC zonal literary events, bringing together nine local schools affiliated to the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). The participating schools included Sat Paul Mittal School and Sacred Heart Convent Schools from Sahnewal, Jamalpur, Raikot, Machhiwara, Bhattian and Samrala. Renowned Quiz Master, Murli Pillai, conducted the quiz segment. Students of Guru Nanak Public School excelled, with Charvi Singh winning the first prize in the junior category. Jasmanpreet Singh and Reyansh Sood emerged as the winning team in the sub-junior category. In the painting competition, Jaskirat Singh and Ekamjot Kaur secured the first prize. Japneet Kaur Bedi excelled in creative writing, securing the first prize.
Nankana Sahib Public School
Budding bhangra artistes of Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Road, brought laurels to the school by winning the second position in the bhangra competition organised by Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex. The competition was organised at BCM, Sector 32, Chandigarh Road, with 32 schools participating.
Bhartiya Vidya Mandir
Students of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Sector 39, observed the International Commerce Day with enthusiasm. The school’s commerce club organised activities and competitions for the students of classes XI and XII including a visit to stock exchange through which students got relevant knowledge and familiarity about the financial market and online trading and also got the chance to delve into the live market working . Competitions in poster-making, slogan-writing, emojis painting for cyber awareness, portrait and life sketches of famous business personalities, poetry recitation, declamation model making were also organised.
Darshan Academy
A spiritual talk on ‘positive behavior’ was organised for students of classes VI to X at Darshan Academy. Komal Suneja from Sawan Kirpal Ruhani Mission was the guest speaker. Through storytelling, she shared insights on cultivating positive behavior. She emphasized the importance of imbibing virtues to become positive individuals. TNS
