The pre-primary wing of Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town, organised an inter-section English poem recitation competition for students of Class I on July 19. Two participants from each section took part in the competition with zeal. Various topics given to the students were – gratitude, childhood memories, emotions and life. Participants from each section spoke with confidence. Principal Mrs. Gurmant Kaur Gill appreciated the students’ efforts and emphasised that events like these enable students to imbibe good moral values and to develop the right kind of life skills. Headmistress Navjeet Kaur Pahuja and coordinator Abhineet Kaur Sarna also appreciated the efforts of the teachers and the students. Deserving students were honoured with certificates. Samreen Kaur bagged the first prize, Kuljit Kaur got the second position and third spot was bagged by Divnoor Kaur and Japji Kaur. Jasnaam Kaur got the consolation prize.
BVM Senior Secondary School
Green Day was celebrated at the school wherein the tiny tots learnt about the importance of green colour and the positive effects it has in our lives. Attractive charts and drawings were displayed on the bulletin boards. Green costumes were prepared by children. Nature walk in the garden of the school infused in them vigor, vitality and freshness. The shades of green filled the air with freshness, thrill, ecstasy and bliss.
Horizon School of Excellence
An interactive four-day training session was organised for the teaching staff. The session focused on enhancing reading and basic mathematical skills in students at the foundation level. The training session emphasised pedagogical approaches that can be adopted for reading activities, helping children discover their learning paths by focusing on the comprehensive meaning of words in a contextual sense, rather than just the alphabets, and connecting them to real-life experiences. Key topics included strategies for encouraging students to read, promoting multilingualism in classrooms at the foundational stage, story reading sessions and incorporating various fun activities into everyday classroom teaching to make learning engaging and enjoyable.

The school hosted a campus reporting training session in collaboration with City Needs, aimed at empowering students with essential journalistic skills. Guided by Maneet Dewan, Director, City Needs, the session featured engaging workshops that covered a wide array of topics including news writing techniques, effective interview strategies and the nuances of multimedia reporting. Principal DP Guleria commended the initiative for its significant contribution to students’ overall development. The event garnered enthusiastic participation from students across multiple schools, showcasing its profound impact in promoting media literacy and providing hands-on learning experiences.

With beaming smiles and sparkling eyes, kindergarten students of Spring Dale Public School arrived at school, eager to indulge in the juicy celebrations of International Mango Day. The students, dressed in vibrant mango-Inspired costumes, indulged in a fun-filled day of learning,creativity and delicious mango treats. The young learners explored the world of mangoes renowned as ‘King of Fruits’ through engaging activities, including craft activity, colouring pictures and informative session on the fruits.
