Ludhiana: Students of Spring Dale Public School have successfully completed a rigorous 10-day training at ATC-56 NCC, GNE College, Ludhiana. The camp was led by Colonel Rohit Khanna, Commanding Officer 3PB, BN. During the camp, the students underwent extensive training in drill, firing and social skill activities, gaining insights into the Army’s functioning. They were guided and motivated by Lieutenant Colonel Davinder Dadwal, Managing Officer, and Subedar Major Karnail Singh. The Spring Dalians excelled in the volleyball competition, with the following students of Class XII clinching the first prize: Sehajpreet Singh, Mukul Dev and Harman Singh. Additionally, the students impressed everyone with their energetic Bhangra performance, earning accolades from the camp officials. The following students were part of the Bhangra team: Rohan Thakur (XII), Rohaan (X) and Amritpal (X).
BCM ARYA
Promoting sustainable education and being a Green School Award winner since 2008, BCM Arya has received numerous laurels in sustainability and community outreach programmes. On the occasion of the World Environment, Green Mentors unveiled the results of India’s National Green School Ranking 2024, recognising outstanding achievements in sustainable education across the country. Green Mentors is aligned with UNESCO ‘s Green Education Partnership and BCM Arya is a member of the American Green School Network (IAGSN). This year’s rankings highlight schools that have excelled in integrating environmental stewardship into their educational practices. BCM Arya secured the rank seven with an impressive score of 92 out of 100.
GGN Public School
Students of GGN Public School celebrated the Global Energy Independence Day. The day is observed to promote sustainable forms of energy. Students observed the day by spreading awareness about green and clean sustainable energy, highlighting that only the renewable resources can provide for sustainable and responsible growth. A slide presentation was given by senior students to their juniors about renewable forms of energy such as solar, wind and geothermal. Principal Gunmeet Kaur congratulated the social sciences and science department for bringing awareness among the students regarding sustainable development. She added that celebrating such days helped the students think outside the box and get information about the changing trends in power generation.
BCM Foundational Stage
BCM Foundational Stage, Chandigarh road, celebrated Paper Bag Day with fervor in a vibrant display of environmental consciousness and creativity, The day saw spirited participation from students of Nursery, LKG, and UKG. These young learners engaged in an enriching and educational activity, crafting paper bags from recycled materials. This exercise aimed to instill a profound understanding of environmental conservation from an early age. The students were encouraged to embellish their creations with crayons, glitters, stickers and various decorative materials.
DAV Public School
DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, in collaboration with the Sambhav Foundation, celebrated Van Mahotsav with the aim to raise awareness on the importance of trees and forests. As part of the celebrations, approximately 2,300 saplings were distributed to teachers, staff, parents, and students of classes VI to XII.These saplings will be planted on July 14 at various locations around the city to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the ‘Earth Hour’.
Guru nanak Int’l Public School
Navchetna Child Welfare Committee, an NGO, organised a state level painting competition ‘Udaan 2024’ at Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town, for the students of classes VI to XII. The budding artists were seen unleashing their creativity with enthusiasm. Besides, a tree plantation drive was also organised by the NGO to sensitise the students towards the need to preserve our environment.
