Green Land convent school

Ludhiana: Students of Green Land Convent School, Civil City, brought laurels to the school by winning gold medals in different age groups in the district-level inter-school table tennis tournament held at Hindi Putri Pathshala, Khanna. Tamanna and Priyanka, both students of Class VIII, clinched the gold in the girls’ U-14 category while Nishtha and Shwiti, students of Class XII, won the U-19 doubles gold. Dr Rajesh Rudhra, Chairman, Green Land Schools, and Ritu Malhotra, principal, congratulated the girls on their achievement.

The students of Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park, succeeded in attaining remarkable achievement at the Takshila Science Carnival hosted by DPS, Ludhiana. Competing against 11 teams, Class VIII students Ajay Dhiman and Taranjot Singh secured the first place in the ‘Junk to Genius (Toys from Trash)’ event. Their innovative creation, a balloon-powered car, demonstrated Newton’s Third Law of Motion, earning high praise.

DAV Public School, Pakhowal road, organised the annual day celebration of Class V on its campus. The event saw the participation of around 300 students. The event was inaugurated by Principal Dr Satwant Kaur Bhullar who extended a warm reception to all the grandparents and parents. The function commenced with a lamp lighting ceremony and an obeisance to the Almighty through a classical dance performance by the students. The event also acknowledged the achievements of the alumni who have brought laurels to India during the recent Olympics. Some of the important SDGs such as women empowerment, and peace and justice were also emphasised in the presentations.

shamrock Christian Sr Sec School

Shamrock Christian Senior Secondary School’s (Hambran Road) dramatic club organised a drama competition to foster creativity and love for the art form. Students of the middle section participated in the competition enthusiastically. Even in the role plays conducted by the primary section – students spoke with confidence and excellent diction. Principal P Singh brought out the importance of dramatics in holistic development.

Bhartiya Vidya Mandir

Commemorating the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, the sports club of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Sector 39, organised an array of activities and competitions. On the occasion, students participated enthusiastically in various athletics events like 50, 100, 200, 400 and 600 m races, weight race, long jump, three leg race, one leg race, back race, side race and short put.
