Police sources said the school management was also mentioned as accused in the registered FIR and in further probe if name of any other member of the management comes to the fore, his/her name would be added to the FIR.

Notably on December 16, Amaira, who was studying in Class I, met with a tragedy on the campus of BCM School, Sector 32, Chandigarh road, on Monday. She was mowed down by the school bus on the school premises. Though she was taken to a private hospital, she could not survive owing to serious head injuries. The incident occured in the morning when Amaira got off a bus and was heading towards her classroom when the vehicle rammed into her from the rear and mowed her down. Eyewitnesses had said the girl’s head got crushed in the mishap. After the incident, school staff rushed the victim to Fortis Hospital and the CCTV footage also surfaced, showing a man taking the girl to the hospital. Her kin had also held a protest on the school premises, alleging the negligence of the school management in failing to prevent the accident. A protest was also held outside the Police Division 7, demanding the arrest of the school principal.
