The administration was on their toes, making elaborate arrangements for the smooth flow of traffic to the venue of Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda’s bhog ceremony that will take place on the outskirts of Pona village near here on Friday.
The administration also issued a route plan for the movement of vehicles from Ludhiana, Sidhwan, Moga and Raikot. While earlier it was planned that the ceremony would take place at the village gurdwara, the venue was shifted to open fields situated on the outskirts of the singer’s native village.
Police officials, led by Ludhiana (Rural) SSP Dr Ankur Gupta, oversaw the final touches that were being given to the main pandal and various lounges earmarked for parking, besides a helipad for the CM’s copter at Sidhwan. Organisers said separate arrangements had been made to accommodate thousands of fans and other persons, including celebrities, ministers and legislators.
