Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Punjab working president, Amansher Singh (Sherry Kalsi), has hit back strongly at BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa over what he termed “false accusations” against the AAP and the Punjab Government. Singh dismissed Sirsa’s claim that drugs are being delivered door-to-door in Punjab under AAP’s rule, calling it “an outright lie and a shameful remark.”

Singh said, “I had heard that politicians lie, but this is the first time I’ve seen someone speak such blatant and naked lies.” Kalsi dismissed Sirsa’s claim that drugs are being delivered door-to-door in Punjab under AAP’s rule, calling it “an outright lie and a shameful remark.” He reminded Sirsa that “before 2007, no one in Punjab had even heard of ‘chitta’ (synthetic drug), and from 2007 to 2017, it was the BJP-Akali Dal government that ruled Punjab.”

According to Singh, it was during this decade that Punjab was systematically pushed into the drug crisis. “Instead of providing employment to the youth, syringes of drugs were handed to them and drug traffickers were given political protection,” he said.

He further pointed out that Sirsa served as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Sukhbir Singh Badal. “If anyone is responsible for the spread of drugs in Punjab, it is that very government and the people who were part of it,” he asserted.

Highlighting AAP’s work, Singh said, “People can now see how the AAP government is transforming schools, offering jobs without recommendations or bribes and providing 300 units of free electricity. Lies from leaders like Sirsa will no longer influence the public.”

Meanwhile, in a major setback to the Congress in the Ludhiana West by-election, AAP gained further momentum. On Sunday, several Congress-affiliated individuals joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Amansher Singh and Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian welcomed the new members.

Addressing the media, Singh stated, “AAP is a party of the common people, while Congress is full of dynastic politicians, internal strife, and factionalism. Ordinary people have no place in Congress.”
