Shots fired at bailiff, 5 booked

A case of attempt to murder was registered against a family of New Swarn Park Colony on Rahon Road for allegedly firing bullets at a court bailiff who had come to enforce court orders.

The case was registered against Kripal Singh, his wife Surinder Kaur, son Gurjeet Singh and their two daughters-in-law on the complaint of Gurpreet Singh (51) of Model village.

As per the complaint, Gurpreet had a old property dispute with Kripal, which was pending in a court. It ruled in Gurpreet’s favour and gave him possession of the property. On March 13, he reached the spot along with bailiff Bahadur Khan and labourers to implement the order. When Kripal and his kin were told about it, they allegedly started abusing them. Later, Kripal and his son climbed onto the roof and opened fire with a rifle. The police launched a probe to nab the suspects.
