Social organisations pledge support to Punjab Police’s anti-drug campaign

Office-bearers and activists of various social, religious and educational organisations have announced their support to the ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign launched by the local police, led by Malerkotla SSP Gagan Ajit Singh.

The announcement was made during the concluding session of a function to felicitate police personnel who have played an outstanding role in breaking supply chains of drugs and narcotics besides facilitating de-addiction and rehabilitation of youths, who had earlier fallen prey to drug abuse.

Punjab Genco Limited chairman Navjot Garg Mandair, Ahmedgarh Market Committee chairman Kamaljit Singh Ubhi, Ahmedgarh Municipal Council President Vikas Krishan Sharma, former Municipal Council President Ravinder Puri, Ahmedgarh Sports and Welfare Association patron Shiv Kumar Narad Buta, Rotary Club president and Malerkotla District Bar Association president Arvind Maavi led the enthusiasts felicitating police personnel, announcing their support to the campaign, launched under the supervision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and DGP Gaurav Yadav.

The organisers also felicitated the police officials led by DSP Davinder Singh Sandhu, DSP Ranjit Singh Bains, DSP Rajan Sharma, CIA in-charge Mahorana Harjinder Singh, Amargarh SHO Gurpreet Kaur and SHO Randeep Sharma for playing pivotal role in rescue operation undertaken to save seven-year-old child, Bhawkirat Singh, who was abducted from his home on Wednesday.

Appreciating gestures shown by social activists towards success of the ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign, SSP Gagan Ajit Singh said the fight against drug peddlers and anti-social individuals could not be successful without the active participation of the law-abiding residents and social activists
