Officials posted at various police stations in Raikot and Dakha subdivisions have been advised to be more courteous and responsive towards elderly persons and women approaching them for the redress of their grievances. SHOs and beat officers were also asked to ensure the safety and security of residents of all localities falling under their respective jurisdictions.

Instructions were given by Ludhiana (Rural) SSP Dr Ankur Gupta during a surprise inspection at Sudhar and Jodhan police stations in the region.

“While you are supposed to deal with anti-social elements and criminals strictly, you must be more courteous towards elderly persons and women approaching you,” Gupta told the police officials after hearing their grievances.

Earlier, Gupta reviewed the functioning of various wings at different police stations and collected information about the details of government and non-government strategic installations falling under various stations.
