Stolen jewellery recovered, two held

Sajad Lehri and Rajbul Ansari of Sita Marhi district of Bihar, at present staying in Bal Singh Nagar of the Daresi Road area of Ludhiana, were arrested by police personnel, led by the SHO, Jodhewal Basti police station, Jasvir Singh, for allegedly committing a theft at a house and stealing cash and valuables on Saturday.

Stolen items, including six gold rings, two bangles and artificial jewellery, and Rs 90,000 in cash were recovered from the suspects on the basis of information obtained during the preliminary investigation.

Though the police are yet to ascertain antecedents of Sajad, preliminary investigations revealed that Rajbul was already facing four cases registered at various police stations.
