Sukhdev Enclave Scheme transferred to MC

Providing another big relief the city’s residents, the Local Government Department has transferred the sixth major scheme namely, Sukhdev Enclave Scheme, from the jurisdiction of the Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) to the Municipal Corporation (MC).

An announcement to this effect was made by Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora at a press conference this evening. LIT Chairman Tarsem Singh Bhinder was also present on the occasion.

Previously, services related to water supply, sewerage, house tax, and property tax were handled by the MC, while no objection certificate (NOC) and No Due Certificate (NDC) services were provided by the LIT. However, the ongoing work of development by the LIT in these schemes would continue till completion. Bhinder said LIT had 33 schemes, of which most had already been transferred to the MC.
