Students of DAV Public School (BRS Nagar) demonstrated exceptional skills at the 27th Junior & 7th Cadet Punjab State Kyorugi & Poomsae Taekwondo Championship. Of the six participants (in photo) from the school, five secured gold medals, while one student bagged a silver. The gold medal-winners are Hardik Mittal (Class XI), Palak Thakur (Class XI), Dishika Gupta (Class XI), Raycel (Class XI), and Mehakpreet Kaur (Class VII), while the silver was won by Aryaman Sood (Class XI).
BVM holds Badminton Tournament
In an initiative by the Health and Wellness Club of BVM (Sector 39), an inter-branch badminton tournament was organised at the school. Thirty-two enthusiastic students of BVM schools in Kitchlu Nagar, Udham Singh Nagar, Dugri, and Sector 39 (Chandigarh Road) participated in the tournament with intense competitive spirit in an atmosphere of celebration and enjoyment.
BCM celebrates TLM, FLN day
Under CBSE Shiksha Saptah, BCM School, Chandigarh Road, hosted an extensive TLM (Teaching-Learning Material) Day and FLN (Foundational Literacy and Numeracy) Day, showcasing a range of creative and educational activities. Principal DP Guleria inaugurated the TLM Day exhibition, which featured specialised stalls like “Let’s Understand from Posters” and the unique “Jaadui Pitara”, emphasising hands-on learning tools. The event captivated the audience with musical demonstrations, literary displays and innovative teacher TLM exhibits, including shadow puppetry and flashcards. Demonstration classes conducted by student teachers highlighted modern teaching techniques.
Essay contest at Guru Nanak School
To help develop literary skills among its students, Guru Nanak International Public School organised an essay-writing competition for students of Class IX. The students were given a wide range of topics to express their thoughts through writing. The students wrote essays on specific topics in English, Hindi or Punjabi, and they expanded upon their ideas in a thoughtful and cohesive manner.
Kindergarten party at GNIPS
To welcome and introduce new Kindergarten students to the school, GNIPS Ludhiana (BRS Nagar-I Block) organised a fresher’s party for the session 2024-25. The tiny tots, dressed in colourful attires and with million-dollar smiles on their faces, added a spirit of celebration and gaiety to the event. Several recreational activities — including singing, dancing and modelling — were the main attractions of the gala event.
Mock parl session at HVM Convent
HVM Convent Senior Secondary School organised a mock parliament session for the students of classes IX-XII. The students were assigned two topics — ‘42nd Amendment Act’ and ‘1975 Emergency’ — for debate. The debate commenced with an introductory speech and the National Anthem. Each student was allocated a role guide and assigned a political party. The mock parliament gave the students (in photo) a good understanding of politics and the functioning of the parliament.
