Under the programme, teachers will help schoolchildren learn the nuances of democracy and the parliamentary system by institutionalising Bal Sansad (children’s parliament) in their schools. The ADC said the Bal Sansad would be a forum at which students would express their views on various subjects including their school, family, society and could also talk about their rights freely. Assistant Commissioner Kritika Goyal highlighted the role of teachers in facilitating the formation of Bal Sansad. Experts from Wings of Wisdom Foundation, Anuja Naik and Samuel Dutta, also shared their views on the importance of children’s parliament and students as torchbearers of democracy.
