Three of vehicle thieves’ gang held, 12 bikes seized

Ludhiana, August 12
The police yesterday busted a gang of vehicle thieves and arrested three of its members. They also recovered 12 stolen motorcycles from their possession.
The suspects have been identified as Jagdeep Singh, alias Sonu (38), of the Tajpur road area, Amit Kumar (35) of Tibba and Sumit Kumar Moria, alias Prince (23), a resident of New Subash Nagar.
Ludhiana Commissioner of Police Kuldeep Singh Chahal in a statement issued stated that a tip-off was received that the three suspects had formed a gang of vehicle thieves and they had stolen many vehicles from the city in the recent past. After zeroing down the location of the suspects, a police team conducted a raid and nabbed the trio. Two motorcycles were recovered from the spot. Later during their questioning, they disclosed about 10 motorcycles which they had stolen from various areas of the city. Following which, the police seized the vehicles.
Chahal said now, real owners of the vehicles would be identified and the same would be handed over to them by following the due procedure.
