Three persons opened fire at the house of a man over enmity at Swaddi Kalan village near Jagraon on Monday. Fortunately, the house owner did not suffer any injuries in the firing.

A case was registered against the assailants, identified as Tarsem Singh, his son Gurmeet Singh and Harbhajan Singh.

Complainant Kulwant Singh Laddi, a resident of Swaddi Khurd village, Jagraon, told the police that he had kept pigeons at his house. Gurmeet Singh of his village has also kept pigeons jointly with Tarinder Singh Tinda of the village and to take care of them, Tarinder has kept Kuki, another resident of the village. On the night of May 23, when he along with his family, was present in the house, Gurmeet started arguments with him over the phone and said why did he stopped Gurjeet and Kuki from catching pigeons.

The complainant said on May 25 evening, Tarsem, his son Gurmeet and Harbhajan came there. Gurmeet and Harbhajan abused him. After some time, he heard a sound of gunshots outside his house and when he went out, he found gunshot marks on the main gate of the house. He suspected that the firing was intended to kill him. A licensed weapon was suspected to be used in the firing and the police should nab the suspects.
