Timely diagnosis, treatment of cancer can result in improved outcomes: Expert
The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Ludhiana, in collaboration with Fortis Hospital, Gurugram, organised a cancer conclave. The event brought together leading oncologists, medical professionals, and experts to discuss advancements in cancer diagnosis, treatment and preventive strategies.
The conclave aimed to raise awareness about various types of cancer, early detection methods and latest innovations in oncology. Eminent doctors shared their expertise on cutting-edge treatments, including immunotherapy, targeted therapy and robotic-assisted surgeries. The interactive sessions allowed participants to engage in meaningful discussions on patient care and new breakthroughs in cancer research.
Dr Dheeraj Aggarwal, president of the IMA, Ludhiana, emphasised the importance of collaboration between healthcare institutions to improve cancer care. He said, “This conclave serves as a vital platform for exchanging knowledge and enhancing our collective efforts in combating cancer.” Such initiatives play a crucial role in the fight against cancer and inspire continuous advancements in oncology.
Dr Manoj Sobti, patron of the IMA, was an observer from the Punjab Medical Council. He said timely diagnosis and treatment of cancer can result in improved outcomes. Dr Anil Kumar Anand, Dr Rahul Bhargava, Dr Vikas Dua and Dr Sandeep Vaishya senior oncologist’s and neurosurgeon from Fortis Hospital, Gurugram, highlighted the significance of early screening and personalised treatment approaches. They said, “With advancements in medical science, we can now offer more effective, patient-centric treatments that improve survival rates and quality of life.”
Dr Ruchi Mutneja, general secretary of the IMA, Ludhiana, said the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from doctors, medical students and healthcare professionals. It concluded with a Q&A session where attendees interacted with experts to gain deeper insights into the evolving landscape of cancer treatment.
