Truck driver found dead at Khanna village

A truck driver, who went missing under mysterious circumstances, was found dead at Libra village in Khanna. He was reportedly killed in a hit-and-run incident. He was identified as Mandeep Singh (49) of Rasulra in Khanna.

Complainant Kuldeep Singh, brother of the deceased, told the police that his brother was a truck driver. On September 18, he had gone to Majri village to load scrap in his truck. When his brother did not return home, they tried to locate him but to no avail. On the morning of September 19, he got a call from village sarpanch Gurpreet Singh, who told him that the body of Mandeep was lying at Rasulra village. He, along with sarpanch, rushed to the village and identified the body.

The complainant suspected that his brother might had been hit by some rashly driven vehicle as there were serious injury marks on the body. He lodged a complaint at the Sadar Khanna police station and on his complaint, a case was registered.

Head constable Baljinder Singh said after registering a case, further investigation was launched to identify the errant driver.
