In a statement, Amandeep Singh Brar, ADCP, Crime, stated that secret information was received on July 19 that above said persons, who were members of gangster Jatinder Jindi gang, were roaming in the city. After verifying the information, location of the suspects was traced. Both the suspects were arrested by a police party.

During investigation, it came to the fore that gangster Jatinder Jindi, a resident of the Rahon road, and gangster Shubham Arora, alias Mota, a resident of Madhopuri, had an old enmity. Their gangs had a gang war in the past, the ADCP said, while adding that since Jindi was lodged in jail, his gang activities were being run by Harinder Singh.

The ADCP further said a few days ago, Harinder and Deepak had a scuffle with Kunal Sharma, alias Kaimby, a member of Shubham Arora gang.

“Illegal weapons have been recovered from the suspects. They would be interrogated to find about crimes committed by them with these weapons. Persons who supplied weapons to the suspects would also be identified,” the ADCP said. A case under the Arms Act was registered against the suspects.

Notably, both the suspects had a criminal past. Deepak was facing three cases of attempt to murder and the Arms Act while three cases of attempt to murder and the Arms Act were registered against Harinder.
