Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) Chief Administrator Harpreet Singh said they would show zero tolerance towards unplanned and illegal colonies. He stated that a special drive was launched to take punitive action against those who offered cheap plots in unauthorised colonies without adhering to government norms.
In compliance with the demolition orders issued by the Additional Chief Administrator of GLADA, against unauthorized colonies, a team consisting of the Duty Magistrate, police force, and GLADA’s Regulatory Wing enforcement team demolished two unauthorized colonies on Wednesday, in Dhandra village, Ludhiana.
The demolition involved dismantling roads and removing illegal constructions and structures on these sites.
Despite being served notices, the developers continued their illegal construction activities, prompting a special team to carry out the demolition drive, which proceeded without opposition.
GLADA Chief Administrator warned the public to not purchase any property in unauthorized colonies as GLADA would not provide any facility like water supply, sewerage and electricity connections.
The list of approved & regularised colonies along with their sanctioned maps is available on the official website of GLADA.
