The police also recovered four stolen vehicles, including two motorcycles and two scooters.
ADCP Sameer Verma while addressing a press conference said in the ongoing campaign against robbers, thieves and criminal elements, two suspects were nabbed and stolen vehicles were recovered. SHO, Jodhewal police station, inspector Jasvir Singh said acting on a tip-off they arrested two suspects, identified as Rakesh Kumar and Teerath Singh, in a theft case from Sabzi Mandi, Bahadurke Road. Two motorcycles and two Honda Activa scooters were recovered from them. A case was registered against them and further investigation was launched to inquire about their involvement in past vehicle theft incidents. The probe might also lead the police to other members of the gang.
The ADCP said two cases of theft and other serious offences were already registered against Rakesh at different police stations and after coming out of bail, he continued to steal vehicles. It is being suspected that the suspects had committed several vehicle thefts in the past and they might have sold the vehicles. The suspects were presented before a court and remanded in police custody for three days.
