Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, today inaugurated its upgraded, state-of-the-art bone marrow transplant (BMT) unit. Since introducing Punjab’s first allogeneic stem cell transplant programme in 2008, the department of clinical haematology has successfully performed over 285 transplants, including 100 thalassaemia transplants. The upgraded unit boasts eight dedication transplanted beds, equipped with the latest technology and facilities.
The event was graced by Dr Pankaj Malhotra, Head of the Department of Clinical Haematology at PGIMER-Chandigarh, and Dr Alok Srivastava from St John’s Research Institute.
