VC Gilll urges students to stay away from drugs, take part in physical activities

New undergraduate students admitted to the College of Dairy and Food Science Technology, College of Fisheries and College of Animal Biotechnology of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University underwent a personality enhancing lifetime learning experience during a student induction program (SIP), “Deeksharambh,” which was organised as per the guidelines of the University Grant Commission (UGC). During the programme students’ participation in various activities connected them to the university life and education system, with a positive mind-set beyond doubts, anxiety and hesitations.

The programme concluded on a high note with a visionary address by Dr Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor, and other officials of the university, instilling confidence and enthusiasm among the students to pursue their higher education with discipline and excellence.

Delivering the presidential address, Dr Gill shared the university’s academic milestones and encouraged the students to adhere to discipline, chase excellence, participate in extracurricular activities and work hard in taking forward the university’s legacy of service the farming community and aiding in the development of the nation.

He also urged the students to stay away from drugs, socialise and undertake physical activities for a healthy body and mind.

The programme ended with an anti-drug pledge for all the students to make the university campus drug-free.
