This two-day event is expected to bring together over 200 scholars, researchers, scientists and professionals from across India, representing the fields of public health, veterinary sciences, environmental studies, and related disciplines. The symposium aims to transform the one health concept into practical action, emphasising the interconnectedness of human, animal and environmental well-being in tackling modern health challenges.
The deliberations will focus on key themes such as zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), food safety, biosecurity, environmental pollutants, emerging pathogens and integrated surveillance mechanisms. The programme has been curated to encourage collaborative approaches and evidence-based strategies for strengthening health resilience at both national and global levels.
Distinguished experts from the medical, environmental, wildlife, and industrial sectors, along with leading academicians, will contribute to discussions.
The participation of international delegates from Australia, Canada, and Belgium will further enrich the dialogue with global insights and experiences.
Through this symposium, GADVASU reinforces its commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and development of scientifically grounded solutions to enhance the health of people, animals and ecosystems. The event will include plenary lectures, panel discussions, scientific presentations and interactive sessions aimed at translating the one health philosophy into effective and real-world interventions.

One health concept
The one health concept is an integrated approach. It recognises that human, animal and environmental health are deeply interconnected. This connection requires collaboration across disciplines, including doctors, vets, ecologists and others, to tackle health challenges like zoonotic diseases (COVID-19, rabies), antimicrobial resistance (AMR), food safety and climate change impacts for better global health outcomes. The concept moves beyond silos to address shared risks, promoting sustainable solutions for people, animals and ecosystems.
