The Department of Livestock Production Management at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, successfully organised a one-week Advanced-Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programme (AESDP) on “Scientific Dairy Farming, Value Chain Addition and Marketing to Boost Farmers’ Income.” The programme was funded by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India.

The training, attended by 20 participants from various regions of Punjab, aimed to enhance the skills of dairy farmers and bridge the gap between theoretical education and practical expertise. Dr Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor of the University, emphasised the significance of such training initiatives in creating employment opportunities for farmers.

Dr Arora highlighted the crucial role of entrepreneurship in the dairy sector, noting its contribution to economic growth and rural employment. Dr Uppal focused on importance of clean milk production and the use of technology in dairy processing and start-ups to ensure sustainability and profitability.
