Vet varsity invites applications for Chief Minister’s awards

Pashu Palan Mela of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana will be held on 13, 14 September. The university will be conferring Chief Minister’s awards in the field of livestock farming during the mela. To this end, the Directorate of Extension Education is inviting applications from progressive farmers by August 12.
These awards are funded by the Chief Minister to boost the livestock sector in the state and will consist of a cash prize and a citation. This year, the awards will be given in three categories namely cattle farming, poultry farming and value addition of livestock produce.
The application forms can be obtained from the Directorate of Extension Education and from all Krishi Vigyan Kendras across the state, or can be downloaded from: https://www.gadvasu.in/notices/9319. The contesting farmers will be shortlisted based on the information given in the form. Further, a team of experts from the varsity will visit the shortlisted farmers for on the spot assessment, said Dr Parkash Singh Brar, Director of Extension Education.
