Fish Fest 2025

The College of Fisheries at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University is organising Fish Festival 2025 on March 12, starting at 10:30 am, under the theme “Fish for Health” to promote fish consumption among non-vegetarians in the state. The event will feature a display and sale of convenient fish products, highlighting their role in human nutrition. Young fisheries professionals and entrepreneurs will showcase their products, while an Ornamental Fish Exhibition will add colour to the festival. A public tagline competition with a cash prize will also be held, encouraging creative ways to promote fish consumption.

Medicos’ Moment

Christian Medical College will host its annual convocation and prize distribution on March 11 at 10 am. Dr Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh, will be the chief guest. Graduating doctors will take the Hippocratic Oath, affirming their commitment to ethical medical practice. Medical students will also be awarded for their exemplary performance in exams.

Honouring a Visionary

Giani Bhagat Singh, a true “Bhagat”, industrialist, and philanthropist, will be remembered on his birth centenary on March 8 at Ramgarhia Girls College’s Baba Gurmukh Singh Hall. The event will feature the release of a book titled “Bhagat Mala De Churasi Manke” at 12 pm, followed by a documentary on Bhagat Puran Singh. Ranjodh Singh, President of Ramgarhia Education Council, shared that the three-hour programme will provide an in-depth look at Giani Bhagat Singh’s life. It will be attended by staff, principals from various educational institutes, dignitaries and students.
