The Ludhiana rural police claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers, including a woman, and seized 264 gm of heroin from their possession.

They have been identified as Karan of Jagraon and Amritpal Kaur Cheenu of Rani Wala Khooh.

The suspects were arrested when they were going to deliver a consignment on a motorcycle near the cremation ground at Kothey Khajooran on the outskirts of Jagraon city.

Probe revealed that police officials, led by DSP (D) Inderjit Singh Boparai and in-charge, CIA, Amritpal Singh, had nabbed the suspects after getting a tip-off on Wednesday. The suspects tried to escape after seeing the police but the latter succeeded in apprehending them.
