Woman ends life, husband booked for abetment
Ludhiana, August 21
The Sadar Khanna police yesterday registered a case against a man after his wife committed suicide by hanging herself at Ikolahi village in Khanna.
The accused identified as Manjit Singh, a resident of Ikolahi village, has been arrested by the police.
Deceased’s brother Gurdeep Singh alleged that his sister Ranjit Kaur got married to Manjit Singh about three years back. The complainant alleged that since the day of marriage of her sister, her husband had been harassing her on one pretext or other. Recenty, the accused beaten up the deceased due to which his sister came to our house and lived here edor for some days. On August 19, his sister along with her son went to her husband’s house.
Yesterday morning, Manjit had badly beaten up the deceased due to which she committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan.Complainant Gurdeep asserted that his sister ended her life due to the torture meted out to her by the accused.
Investigating officer Inspector Hardeep Singh said that a case of abetment to suicide was registered against the accused.
