Woman kicked in stomach, newborn dies

A newborn baby died a few hours after birth. The victim’s mother blamed a woman and her two daughters for kicking her in the stomach which led to the death of the child. On the complaint of the woman, a case was registered against them.

The suspects were identified as Sunita and her two daughters Antima and Archana, residents of Mahavir Colony.

The complainant, Maya, who is also a resident of Mahavir Colony, told the police that her husband Suresh Ram works as a mason. On January 19, she along with her husband went to the house of Sunita to collect money for the work done by her husband. When they asked Sunita to pay the money, the suspect along with her daughters started abusing them. They even kicked the woman, who was pregnant, in the stomach.

The complainant said on January 20, she was admitted to the Civil Hospital where she delivered a premature baby girl on the intervening night of January 20 and 21.

“My newborn daughter had died after I developed some complications related to pregnancy caused due to the assault by the suspects. The police should take strict action against them,” she said.
