World Radiography Day observed in Ludhiana

The Indian Society of Radiographers and Technologists (ISRT), Ludhiana Academic Club, Punjab chapter, marked World Radiography Day with a one-day continuing medical education (CME) programme. The theme, ‘Illuminating the Invisible’, highlighted the indispensable role of radiographers and imaging professionals in modern healthcare.

The event was held under the guidance of chief patron Dr Kavita Saggar HoD, DMC, organising chairperson Dr Kamini Gupta, professor, DMC, and organising secretary Sam Cherian, senior Radiographer, DMC.

Dr SC Bansal, chairperson ICRT (ISRT), Chandigarh, was the chief guest while Dr J Edmund Moses delivered the guest lecture. Special guests included Dr Chandan Kakkar (DMC), Dr Subhash Singla (CMC), Dr Harish Gambhir (CMC), Dr Anakhvir Gill (Didar Hospital), and Dr Lalit Kumar Gupta (Rayat Bahra University).

The programme commenced with a welcome note by organising secretary Sam Cherian, who greeted dignitaries, delegates and students.

Over 100 delegates and students from various institutions participated in the event, engaging in sessions on recent advancements in radiography, clinical practice updates and strengthening professional standards in diagnostic imaging.

Coordinators Joy Ansar, Shiby Mathew, Randhir Singh, Narender Sharma, Manjinder Kaur, Manish Kumar and Himanshu Sharma ensured smooth execution of the event.

The academic meet served as a platform for knowledge exchange, professional development, and recognition of radiographers’ contributions to patient care. Delegates hailed the initiative as a meaningful step towards advancing diagnostic imaging practices in the state.
