Youngster held for raping 21-year-old

A 21-year-old woman working at a boutique was raped by a youth multiple times in the past. The woman could not lodge a police complaint for long due to threats made by the suspect.
The youth, Davinder Singh, of Baddowal village was nabbed by the police.
The victim told the police that about three years ago, she had gone to attend a function at her maternal grandparents’ house in Cheema village. The youth was also a frequent visitor to the house.
The complainant said one day, the suspect took her to his home in Baddowal village on the pretext that he needed to talk to her. After she reached the place, Davinder forcibly developed physical relationship with her. When she protested his move, he threatened to kill her along with her family members. Following which, she got scared and remained silent.
She alleged that taking the advantage of the situation, he took her to different places and kept raping her. Now, the suspect started harassing her more, after which she lodged a complaint against him and yesterday, the Rakha police registered a case in this regard. ASI Narinder Kumar said after registering a case, the police arrested the youth.
