The concluding day of the Youth and Cultural Heritage Festival at SCD Government College was a grand celebration of Punjabi culture and youthful exuberance. The college formally welcomed and honoured Rituraj Govind Jha, AAP national spokesperson, as the chief guest. Jha lauded the college for producing notable alumni and for promoting Punjab’s r
ich heritage and cultural traditions that had gained recognition across the world. The event was also graced by Dr Sukhjinder Singh Rishi, Director, Youth Welfare Department, Panjab University, and Dr Tejinder Gill Assistant Director, Youth Welfare Department, Chandan Kumar Singh, Ajay Singh Rajput, Deepak Jha, Guddu Mishra, Parminder Singh, Karan Sharma, among others were present. The day also featured a display of winning articles from various cultural heritage competitions held during the festival.
The final day’s performances brought the campus alive with music, rhythm and laughter. The giddha performance stole the show. The energetic dancers captivated the audience with their grace, energy and traditional vibrancy. Equally engaging were the events in folklore (boys and girls), skit, mimicry, classical vocal, ghazal and group song, which showcased the diversity of artistic talent among students. The festival concluded on a joyous and nostalgic note, reaffirming the college’s enduring commitment to nurturing creativity, preserving heritage and celebrating the spirit of youth.
