Mohali, August 25

Mohali on Tuesday reported 132 COVID-19 cases and seven deaths, takin the caseload in the district to 2,951.

Meanwhile, 83 more patients recovered and were discharged today.

Of the 132 cases recorded today, the maximum were from Mohali (48) followed by Gharuan (34), Kharar (22), Zirakpur (20), Boothgarh block (6) and Banur (2).

The seven deaths include a 50-year-old woman from Derabassi, 60-year-old man from Mohali and a 42-year-old man from Baltana, who was also suffering from a kidney ailment.

Two fatalities were reported from Zirakpur — a 72-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman — both patients had co-morbidities such as diabetes and hypertension.

The remaining deaths include a 58-year-old man from Bhagomajra and 63-year-old man from Khlaur, Mohali, who was also suffering from cancer and diabetes.

As of now, there are 1,289 active cases in the district while 1,598 patients have been cured.

With seven more deaths today, the death toll has reached 64 in the district.
