A sequel almost after 30 years and the story supposedly kickstarts from where it left off. In this one, it is Alia Bhatt’s character Aarya who has a desperate need to reach Mount Kailash for that’s her dead mother’s last wish. Sanjay Dutt’s character Ravi Kishore from Sadak is her chauffeur. They are accompanied by Aarya’s boyfriend Vishal (Aditya Roy Kapur). This journey that forms the plot is filled with twists and turns.

First, a brief introduction to the lead characters. Ravi is suicidal because he lost his wife. Aarya Desai is fighting for a cause of unmasking fake godmen because one of them, Gyaan Prakash (Makrand Deshpande), is instrumental in killing her mother.

Cut to the ride to Kailash. Now, how do Ravi and Aarya meet? Ravi Kishore is being treated in the same psychiatric ward where Aarya is taken for electric shocks! When Aarya manages to escape from the hospital, she lands at Ravi’s doorstep.

Now, some keypoints. Ravi speaks to nothingness because that’s how his Pooja communicates with him. He even manages to avert Aarya and Vishal’s death, thanks to Pooja and the talks in the air. This is not all, as the film reaches its dreary climax, Ravi fights the baddies, dies after being pumped with bullets but he wakes up when Pooja tells him that one of the villains is still alive. Sounds pathetic? There is more. When Aarya and Vishal reach Kailash and scatter her mother’s ashes, the mountains talk to them. Unbelievable!

Oh, yes the montages from the original Sadak keep reminding you that what you are watching is a poor shadow of the former. What was Mahesh Bhatt thinking while making this film? Probably he wasn’t thinking at all. And what were actors like Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur thinking when they signed this project? Maybe they had nothing better in life to do. Take this path at your own risk.
