14 Dogra to represent India in joint drill with UK

Chandigarh, February 10

A contingent from the 14th Battalion of the Dogra Regiment would be representing the country in the India-UK Joint Exercise, Ajeya Warrior – 2020, scheduled to be conducted at Salisbury Plains in the UK from February 13 to 26.

The Dogra Regiment primarily consists of troops drawn from the hill state of Himachal Pradesh and some adjoining parts of Punjab and the Jammu region.

The battalion has trained the participants of the exercise in aspects of counter-terrorist operations as per the UN mandate. The participants have also been trained in combat shooting, rock craft, jungle survival and martial arts for unarmed combat.

This is the fifth edition of the exercise which is aimed at conducting company-level joint training with emphasis on counter-terrorist operation in urban and semi urban areas. Training on modern weapon systems, equipment and simulators have also been planned.
