As India today saw highest-ever 11,458 Covid-19 cases in a day to cross the three lakh mark — a leap from 2 lakh cases in a mere 10 days — the government released country’s first clinical management advice on the disease, saying the virus can also be transmitted when the infected person talks.

The guidelines expand the basket of symptoms beyond fever, cough and short breath with the Health Ministry asking people to look for muscle pain, mucous in throat, clogged nasal cavity, sore throat, diarrhoea and loss of taste and smell as triggers.
The use of Hydroxychloroquine as a prophylactic drug will continue and anti-viral drug Remdesivir can be used on patients on oxygen support not responding to treatment. — TNS
