5,133 vacancies in lower judiciary

Law Minister Kiren Rijiju said in a written reply that as on December 13, the sanctioned strength of judicial officers was 24,489 as against a working strength of 19,356, a shortfall of 5,133. PTI

32,000 RTI appeals pending with CIC

In a written reply, Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said there was a pendency of 35,178 and 38,116 RTI appeals during 2019-20 and 2020-21 with the Central Information Commission (CIC), respectively. PTI

Of the 2,836 grossly polluting industries, 2,180 are still operational, the government said on Thursday. MoS for Jal Shakti Bishweswar Tudu said: “Out of 2,836 industries, 2,180 industries are operational and 656 self-closed.” PTI
